For 11 years I worked at the old SA Railways in Johannesburg but gave it up to move back to Vanrhynsdorp where I grew up as a child. The best decision I made was to start working for, and with, Oom Buys Wiese, also known as the ‘succulent king’. Under his guidance I became an expert in the cultivation of succulents and aloes.”

Furthermore, Letsatsi Lodge has the most amazing variety of birds as well as tame Springbok for all to witness on the emerald green lawns. Coenie Fourie was utterly impressed with this lodge, and said the following: “Very nice setting with free roaming springbuck. Great food and very friendly people, definitely worth a try if you travel from Windhoek to Cape Town.”
