Explore untamed, untameable Botswana in all its glory!

This country is known for having some of the best wilderness and wildlife areas on the African continent. It boasts the vast Okavango Delta – one of the 7 wonders of the world – the Chobe National Park with its prolific wildlife, the great Makgadikgadi Pans, covering about 10,000km² of the Kalahari with some enormous pans and others the size of a small duck-pond, and much more.

Namaqua Tours is proud to announce that they have included the untamed and untameable Botswana as one of their tour destinations from 2019. The Vanrhynsdorp-based company is well known all over South Africa and even abroad for their extremely popular flower tours and Namibia tours and thought Botswana would be the best new destination.

“While talking to our clients about the amazing time they had with us in 2018, first on the Namibia tour and then on a flower tour, they were wondering what’s next. I thought to myself and Botswana and Victoria Waterfalls kept rolling in my head. And that was my answer. We have to go to Botswana,” says Mike Spies, owner of Namaqua Tours.

“There is no one highlight for this tour. There are moments found in the sightings of animals, dead or alive. Moments when the sunrise and sunset will take your breath away. Then there is that moment when Botswana gets under your skin, into your heart and you find yourself smiling for no apparent reason,” he adds.

The dates of the first Namaqua Tour to Botswana is from 16 – 24 November 2019. The tour includes a scenic flight over the Okavango Delta, game drives in the Chobe National Park, a visit the breath-taking Victoria Waterfalls in Zimbabwe, a 4×4 safari along the vast Makgadikgadi salt pans to see the exceptional plant and wildlife that made this their home and much more.

Tour-goers can expect spectacular wildlife encounters in Okavango Delta. This is big cat country and you are likely to see leopards, lions and cheetahs. Crocodiles and hippos are also found in the county’s permanent water sources. Nearly 600 different types of birds can be found in Botswana – among them the ostrich and flamingo.

The Botswana tour starts and ends in Pretoria.
